My flowering cherry tree is a great inspiration to me, especially when I photograph its blooming period. Of course, that is only in the spring, but I appreciate every minute it stays bloomed! I added this quotation to one of my photos. You can change the quotation, or not have it at all if you would like, at my Garden Glo Flower Art Zazzle Store by LorrieM.
Along the California coastline, at the tip of the Monterey Peninsula, is a big show that comes on every evening in the summer and fall. You don’t need a television to see it. You just have to be there in person. You can see there is something that will happen soon because people start to gather along the rocky coastline. Sometimes, if the tide is low, you can walk out pretty far, as if the farther you walk the closer you will be to this show! But that doesn’t matter. We can all see very well the sun is about to set and the area becomes a light pink; the little lighthouse nearby has that glow in the twilight. The pink turns a light lavendar and then the golden clouds show up as the sun goes lower behind the horizon. The sun gives a last bow to the audience and it is done for the day.
Along the Central California coast, the sky is painted a beautiful Impressionist style before the sun goes down. The tide is low as the silhouette of sea birds line up to find their resting places for the evening.
“You’ve seen the sun flatten and take strange shapes just before it sinks in the ocean. Do you have to tell yourself every time that it’s an illusion caused by atmospheric dust and light distorted by the sea, or do you simply enjoy the beauty of it?” ~ John Steinbeck (Sweet Thursday)
