Royal Poinciana Flowering Tree

The nickname for this tree is the “Flamboyant Red Flowering Tree”. This one was found in the inner city of Honolulu decorating the beautiful city landscapes. The Hawaiian islands are the “flower” islands because of their beautiful flowering trees and tropical plants. The summer of 2009 was a great year for Hawaiian flowers as this season they bloomed exceptionally well and in abundance.

The Gold Shower trees of the Hawaiian islands are in full bloom this summer. The Rainbow Shower trees are equally beautiful with their bursts of pink shades along the avenues and in the yards.

Since we travel by bus most of the time, we have talked to many Hawaiians about the islands. One of the most interesting things we have heard is that the islands are in full bloom this year unlike previous other years. In fact, we were told Hawaiians were getting worried about the flowers! The trees were not at their best in years until now.

This year came with great surprise to see the trees come back into full bloom adding much decorative beauty to the islands. Hawaii is known as the flower islands for a good reason!

Very colorful floral decorative art created using my original rose photograph and processed in Photoshop. These colors are already within the rose petals. I didn’t add any color, but I brought out the colors that are already there but not seen, by manipulating the light. It gives a very happy and cheerful effect.
