Growing Up in Southern California
Orange orchards and avocado trees grew in abundance and houses popped up in the middle of dairy fields. That was were I grew up. I’ve never made art my career, but one of my favorite things to do has always been to visit art museums, either in Los Angeles or San Francisco. I’ve visited most art museums here in the Bay Area many times; my love for art and California will never diminish.
My photographs are about the intrinsic beauty of natural scenery in the Central Coast Range of California. I’ve long been intrigued by the contradictory, restless landscapes, and the foggy rocky coastlines along the Central Coast.
Sometimes I take a different turn and expand some of my photographs with digital art creating a dreamy floral, and sometimes dramatic, fantasy effect.
As a native Californian, I enjoy making pictures that have regional California themes, show the lights, shadows, and colors of the areas, and leave people wanting to “look at them all day”. Hopefully they are given a sense of inspiration and encouragement. Beauty and inspiration are never far from my own backyard.
