Flamboyant Red Flowering Tree by Lorrie Morrison
Escapism is the word that comes to mind when I see this beautiful red flowering tree whose official name is Royal Poinciana. The red color of the flowers against the green leaves automatically puts one in a good mood when viewing it! I then transport myself back in time thinking of when I found these beautiful trees while walking along the sidewalks of the City of Honolulu. The deep red of the blooms next to the Rainbow and Gold Shower trees made a magnificent landscape. Some of these trees are located over by Waikiki Beach also. They dotted the park lawns like giant red umbrellas majestically giving us shelter when a sudden misty shower came along.
These trees are also located in other warmer parts of our country like Florida and Southern California, to name a few. But Hawaii is the first place I’ve ever seen them and I will always think of those tropical islands when I look at this picture. Together, with other colorful flowering trees in the islands, they made a stunning picture!

Shirley, it’s great you’ve come by to visit! Thanks so much regarding this tree photograph! I’m so glad you like it. If I had to climb this tree to take a photograph and find spiders in it as well, it would be a big bet I would fall right out of the tree! But, luckily this photograph was taken from the ground. These trees are located all over the Oahu island and the big island of Hawaii so chances are you will see it if you are there in the summer time! Thank you Shirley!

This flowering tree is just amazing, and looks stunning with the blue sky and clouds in the background! Many years aho when I was in New Guinea, there was a Tulip Tree in full bloom. I somehow managed to climb it, and take a picture, but there were large spiders in the tree, and I had to use a stick to brush away cobwebs before I could take the picture, it was a wonder I reached the ground safely, but I still have the picture! I would so love to vsiit and seethis tree for real, but thank you so much for sharing it with us!
